Before pursuing the coaching, is it necessary for one to have a basic knowledge of the subjects of the SSC ?
The DOTS ACADEMY provides to its students the necessary orientation regarding the SSC which includes structure, syllabus and methodology of teaching. A student may or may not know the basics. But the DOTS ACADEMY starts from the basics and slowly but steadily inculcates the topics.
Why must one start early ?
We have students calling up a month before the exam asking for coaching. We tell them that he/she can sit in the class but we cannot assure success. A serious and focused study of at least five months is essential for the SSC exams.
When will the syllabus be completed ?
The syllabus will be completed in five months for regular batch.
Why is the course duration at the DOTS ACADEMY for such a long duration of one year ?
Our aim is to see you in a government job. A short duration course may not help the students to keep up the motivation, inspiration and the skills necessary for clearing such an exam. On completion of the syllabus, the students, if they wish, can attend the classes or practice the question papers that we provide. Syllabus
For both CGL and CHSL, the syllabus comprises of Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Comprehension. For CGL, there are three tiers, the last tier being descriptive. In CHSL exam there are only two tiers, the last tier being descriptive.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an agency which conducts exams to various central government services. The popular exams of SSC are Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL), Combined Higher Secondary Exams (SSC CHSL), Central Police Officers Exams (SSC CPO) and Multi-tasking Staff Exam (SSC MTS). Though SSC exams have been very popular in other states, in Kerala it has remained a rather untrodden path. Lack of good SSC coaching centres in Kerala has also proved to be a limitation on the ambitions of aspirants in this direction.

Another SSC coaching centre at Kollam, was also set up in the year 2018 for students in central Travancore.
