5 benefits of making UGC NET once a year
5 benefits of making UGC NET once a year
UGC NET Exam was held twice a year – in July and December. It is a qualifying exam for recruitment of assistant professors in universities and colleges.
Though there is a general resentment against making it one year, there are many benefits to it.
- More time to prepare – Now a serious candidate gets enough time to prepare the bulky syllabus of the UGC NET. There are more chances of completion of syllabus. This benefits both the present PG students as well as the ones who have completed the PG long before. Above all, it boosts up the confidence level.
- Tough competition – When the preparation is thorough, the competition can get tougher. Therefore, meritorious students will find it easier to clear the exam.
- Quality questions – Expect questions to be more competitive as the number of questions to be prepared for a year has been cut down to half. Chances of questions with questionable answers are also reduced. This again brings in competitiveness.
- More serious candidates – It is said that only 40% of the registered applicants generally appear for the exam when it was conducted twice a year. Now we should expect more serious candidates or candidates becoming more serious and ,therefore, a simultaneous increase in the proportion of those attending the exam.
- Overall standardization in exam pattern can increase the chances of job opportunities – Like PSUs recruiting candidates with good GATE score, we can expect more education and research related institutes opting for people with UGC NET score.
So cheer up and gear up for the exam!
