This is an oft asked question. But for that one should know the stages of the exam.
SSC CHSL Exams are very popular exams held every year by the Staff Selection Commission of India. So it is a national level exam. And recruitment is held for various group C positions in Central Govt Organisations, Ministries and Departments.
The exam requires a qualification of twelfth std or equivalent. The exam comprises 3 stages. First stage Tier 1 Objective CBT Exam.
Pattern of Tier 1
Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions and 50 marks)
Reasoning (25 questions and 50 marks)
English Language and Comprehension (25 questions and 50 marks)
General Awareness (25 questions and 50 marks)
So, the question paper is for 200 marks but 100 questions and the total time allotted is 60 min, that is, one gets only 36 sec on a question. So, time management is very crucial for SSC exams.
Pattern of Tier 2
When one clears the Tier 1 Cut off, the entry to second stage, that is, Tier 2 is given, Tier 2 is a descriptive Exam of 100 marks with two questions which could be either a Precis, Essay or Letter writing.
Pattern of Tier 3
Tier 3 exam is basically a skill test where the typing speed of the candidate is measured. but only those candidates are eligible to write who have cleared the cut 0ff of Tier 1 and Tier 2 together.
Document Verification
After qualifying Tier 3 exam, there is again a cut off and after that Document Verification in the Region Concerned. Another cut off is published after the final Document Verification and that determines the Final Result of SSC CHSL.
